Small business leaders would be wise to use this time to prioritize profitability, cash flow and efficiency that way, when the economy does decide to turn up, you can be well ahead of the pack. Small business owners must still be smart and efficient even if they aren't feeling as negative about the present or future as others in the sector. Optimism, however, isn't enough to realize success. A similar report from Analysys Mason found that SMBs are feeling optimistic about their businesses. That positivity and outlook continues to their projections for next year, with 63% feeling positive about 2023 and 79% feeling optimistic about the next three years. Nearly half of respondents (48%) say their business is performing better now than at the same time last year. Such optimism extends through to opportunities related to the revenue of small businesses. According to our survey, 31% of respondents report that the economy hasn't impacted their business, while 15% even say it has impacted them positively. Small businesses are feeling the economic slowdown, which isn't shocking by any means, but a large percentage remains optimistic. However, for those of us who work with small businesses regularly, we aren't at all surprised by their resilience and optimism. Between a pandemic, inflation and an economic slowdown, SMBs have certainly had a rough go of it. ![]() "Uncertainty" seems to be the word of the last few years. Remain optimistic through the uncertainty. If that answer isn't clear, you may be overinvested or underutilizing your technology. Ask yourself how your tech is working for you and what it's doing for the bottom line.
